Jasmine - Sad to Say |

Just an update on things this week; I've been fairly busy.
Tuesday, I received my new laptop. It's an Acer Aspire 5735, with 250GB HDD, 4GB RAM, built in Crystal Eye webcam (which is terrifyingly good, I backed away from the screen at how clear and responsive it is), Intel Core Duo 2 2GHz processor. I'm impressed with it, and I haven't been too appalled by Vista yet. Though definitely jumping on the free upgrade to Windows 7 when I can.
Wednesday, I went to watch Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I was very impressed by it. In my opinion, this is one of the best jobs they've done with adapting the books so far. Yes, there were some things left out as usual, but people keep forgetting that the movies would go on for ten hours if they left nothing out (which I wouldn't have a personal objection to, but...) Some favourite things o Slughorn. Very well done. You felt genuinely sorry for him when he was afraid. Jim Broadbent was an excellent casting choice, despite the fact that he wasn't as 'enormously fat' as the books would have us believe.. o Daniel Radcliffe. Acting has gotten better. And his acting after Harry took the Felix Felicitus potion was very amusing. o Snape. As usual. I loved him at the end, finally pulling his wand on Harry. You really got a taste for his power more so than before in the films. o Helena Bonham Carter. Such a good choice for Bellatrix. She's not how I picture her when reading the books, but she pulls off the character very well. o Tom Felton. I loved Draco's decline and his obvious frustration. And the crying could have gone very badly, but it was very believable. o The cave. I definitely flinched when they came out of the water. And the special effects when Dumbledore managed to recover and whirled flames everywhere, fantastic. o The scene with everyone in the infirmary. I loved that the teachers just stood there watching the ridiculous drama unfold before Lavender flounced out.
After the film, I met Jo, and we went for dinner, which was really good. I haven't seen her for ages, so we had a good chat. And then we ran into Nick too, who I also haven't seen for ages, so that was a good evening.
Thursday - Had. Most. Annoying. Bus. Ride. Ever. I was already running late, and stressed because I had packing on my mind and parents coming the next day. Bus was late. Then proceeded to stall at every bus stop. I don't think I'm capable of driving a bus, don't get me wrong, but the guy spent way too long revving the engine trying to get it start. When we ended up stuck on Morrell Avenue for ten minutes, I desperately wanted to tell him to please hit the accelerator as soon as he got biting point, rather than revving the engine so much that it died again. So frustrating. Met a friend for a little while before they went to work, got my times from work, headed to the post office to find out about forwarding my mail and then went home to pack.
Friday - Had work in the morning, before heading home. Got stuck in the rain, even with an umbrella. My Converse were just two portable puddles. Parents picked me up at 7, and we went back to their hotel (they were staying at The Oxford Hotel in Wolvercote). We had a nice dinner there - I had a blue cheese and pear tart, followed by braised beef and really yummy Lyonnaise potatoes (but with red cabbage that was a bit sweet), and lemon posset for dessert. We had a walk after dinner, before going to the Trout Inn for a drink and walking back. I took a taxi home and continued to pack.
Saturday - parents came in the morning and we loaded up the van. They left around 1.30pm. Dave and Steph also left yesterday. So I'm alone in the house right now. Kind of feeling it too :/ I really hoped I'd be doing something this weekend, but instead I've been spending a crappy weekend alone. And the weather has reflected that. But I'm no longer surprised at things not happening anymore.
I also got emails from Ehime, this week, finally. From one of my supervisors, Imaizumi Shinako-sensei. She was amazingly informative, with lots of contact details, and answers to the questions I asked Kanako. She and other supervisor, Inoue-sensei are actually a married couple, which is quite funny. They're going to pick me up at the airport and also help me look at apartments. I've decided to apply for a very short-term homestay for when I first get there. I am a little nervous about doing it, but I think it'll be a good experience. I also contacted Loren for her advice about it, and she gave me some good questions to ask about it, and her opinion of what it's like. So I'm pretty encouraged. I mean, it's not something long-term I could do - I like my space and I want to have friends to stay, etc. But this way I can actually see my apartment before I move in, which is really advantageous. Japan is really weighing on my mind now. Less than two months to go. Feeling slightly more sick than excited though, insane as you may think me.
Today I have ashamedly pretty much stayed in bed, playing on the internet and watching Buffy episodes (I'm rewatching). I need to move about now. Got some preparation to do for things to do tomorrow. Also really need to do more in making this laptop 'mine'.
And that is your weekly novel done with~

http://www.overheardinnewyork.com/archives/019899.html Man #1, in chaise lounge: Men and women have totally different criteria for attractiveness. Man #2, also in chaise lounge: How so? Man #1: A guy can look like a fucking bullfrog in a Beatle wig, but if he's charming and especially if he has money, women will be all over him. Man #2: Yeah, especially if he has money. Man #1: But let's say a really hot chick walked past us right now in a thong, and another woman says to us, "watch out for her, she's been in and out of mental institutions." Man #2: We'd still want to fuck her. Man #1: Exactly. Man #2: Point well taken.

Half done by me, half by Laurra. Fun times.
Haruki Masato wakes up in the classroom and reminds himself that revenge leads to anger, anger leads to hate and hate leads to suffering. Undesirable, that is. Outside, he meets with Eizo Horiguchi and Kyoko Nozuki and the three argue over what they're going to do next and whether or not Keitaro Miyagi can join their clique. Lightsabers away, boys. [H2-H3]
[H4] Kiku Mori, her abusive boyfriend, and her stalker are trying to walk to the museum. It's not going that well, considering Kiku is (SPOILER) pregnant (END SPOILER), which in other words means she is moving at the speed of a beached whale. When they get there, Daisuke goes inside to make sure no one else is there, which gives Kiku and Akimitchi ample time to sit around and discuss their soap opera love triangle thing. Well, I guess if you add in Taro, it's more of a love... antena-shape. Or something.
Miyako Kitagawa has to be told by Aimi that no, actually, she won't be graduating, but God, Aimi, Miyako's just making conversation. God. Aimi makes to leave, but Miyako's not having any of that, holding her gun on the girl and bitching her out and making her apologise. And then makes her carry all the bags for her. Jesus Christ, Miyako, just pimpslap her across the face now and save time. [G3]
[G5-E5] Kana Minamino and her creepy-ass friend, Katashi, share a bottle of water. This is enough to convince Kana that their game has a good chance of going to collars, since the two would never try to hurt each other. Even after Katashi is like, "Hey, bitch, I'm going to kill you now," Kana doesn't quite get it. They shared water, and that means forever. The two of them get into a scuffle that ends rather abruptly as Katashi ends up stabbing himself in the throat with his own weapon. Well. Okay then. DEATH: Katashi Oshiro. 41 to go.
Yuya Murakami, curious to know what Junpei wants to tell him about how his father died, heads to their meeting spot and finds him there. However, Junpei is not just going to tell Yuya, he's going to show him, following the advice of How To Write books everywhere. And at the point this post ends, he's doing a fairly good job. [I1]
[H2-I2] Haruki Masato still wants to find his sekrit boyfriend, Keitaro, but he's stuck with Kyoko and Eizo instead. The group stops to rest, and Haruki gamely tries to ignore Eizo's bitching, but when Eizo says something about Keitaro, he's gone too far. Haruki tries to get Kyoko to go off with him alone, fearing that Eizo is dangerous to have around; and when Eizo overhears his plan, he proves that point by attacking him. Well done, all of you. :|
Keisuke Akita is a little bitch. Remember that, I'll be testing you later. Leaving the school without having gotten Kei's blood on his designer shoes, Keisuke slips and slides his way along the mountain range before finally falling down... and crying like the bitch he is. Oh, Keisuke. [H2/G2]
[H4] Akimitchi Tsurikan wants to have a talk with Daisuke. So while Kiku is asleep, he pulls Daisuke into another room and... accuses him of sleeping with Kiku! Uh. Daisuke basically has the same reaction and pretty much LOLs at Akimitchi, calling him a stalker. Akimitchi ignores this and, proving Daisuke's point, immediately comes to the conclusion that if he leaves, Daisuke will either rape, kill, or rape and kill Kiku. So. He stabs him in the throat with a box cutter. He pulls Daisuke's collar to make the death harder to pin on him and blames Miki for it when Kiku sees the body. That Miki - what a heinous bitch. As Kiku cries over the corpse of her boyfriend, Akimitchi feels triumphant. Hey, I'm just saying what happened. :O DEATH: Daisuke Arai. 40 to go.
[J5] Taro Hanazawa's not gay or anything, you guys. He just had sex with another guy on a regular basis. That guy happens to be Kouji Totani, and when he shows up and orders Taro and Atsuo to show him their weapons, the two are surprisingly not very happy to see each other. Turns out that's because Kouji might be a good lay, but he's also a huge douchebag. Luckily, Taro and Atsuo discover that Kouji's weapon is nothing more than a blow-up, rubber machine gun. Taro tells Kouji that he used him, only fooling around with him when he was feeling lonely. See? Totally not gay or anything. The guys all get into a fight, which ends when Taro and Atsuo hold Kouji's head under water and drown him. Atsuo is surprisingly accepting of Taro's alternative lifestyle. Either that or he wasn't paying attention. Hmm. 83 DEATH: Kouji Totani. 39 to go.
Hana Gomi is fat. Remember this. She leaves the bunker, is unable to find any food and by God that just won't do. Finding her weapon, she realises that hey, it's pretty damn good, actually. Also, she wants to keep a low profile. If you'd said a wide profile, Hana, I might have thought it possible. [H3-H4]
